Thank you!

thank-you-350Our business runs on the positive comments and referrals from people just like you!  We couldn’t do it without you!   Be sure to remember our referral program where you can earn money off your next cleaning. When you refer someone new to us, we will thank you with a reward of 10%-20% of their cleaning bill.  You earn 10% on the first three referrals and the fourth one we will give you 20% of their sale. So, if their bill is $200, you earn $20 off your next cleaning.  If it’s the fourth referral you sent our way, you would earn $40 off your next cleaning.  We’ve actually had clients who have earned their entire house cleaning!  Call us if you have questions….

Does it feel like you’re allergic to just about everything? Even being awake?

“I used to wake up at 4 a.m. and start sneezing, sometimes for 5 hours.  I tried to find out what sort of allergy I had but finally came to the conclusion that it must be an allergy to consciousness.”  – Raymond Chandler, American Writer, 1888-1959

I bet this quote may be very similar to how you feel.  It sometimes feels like we’re allergic to simply being awake.  With springtime upon us, it’s a good time to begin thinking about a few things.

According to The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, 1 in 4 Americans suffer from allergies or asthma.   Wow!  That’s a lot of Americans!!!

According to WebMD, we spend 90% of our time indoors.  And our indoor air can be up to 100 times more polluted than outdoor air, depending on factors such as if the residents smoke.

“Many people think that carpets and allergies are a bad combination.  Even some allergists will encourage their patients to remove carpeting in favor of hardwood or tile floors.  However, carpets can actually help to reduce the allergens in your home by trapping them, as long as they are properly cleaned on a regular schedule.”    – www.allergyrelief101.com

Carpets trap indoor allergens like dust mites, mold, mildew, fungus, pollen, pet dander and other pollutants and allergens but when that trap gets full, a professional steam cleaning is needed to remove those allergens from your carpet and your home.  What’s the result?  Relief from allergy symptoms related to those substances.

I often hear how much better my clients feel after they get their carpets cleaned.  Prevention can be the best medicine!  Clean carpets can lead to clean indoor air which most likely will result in relief!  Call us today to get your carpets cleaned!!!

If Flooding Occurs….Don’t Panic!

We’re coming upon that time of year when flooding occurs as the snow melts or we experience heavy rains.  Though we all hope it never happens, it’s a good idea to be informed just in case water damage happens to you.

First, something you should do now to be prepared. Contact your homeowners insurance agent to find out if you  are able to get sump pump failure coverage.  Even if you are not able to purchase flood insurance, you may still be able to get this type of coverage.

Then, be aware when flooding occurs, fast action on your part is key!  Standing water needs to be removed immediately.  Mold will start to grow on a damp surface within 24-48 hours.  We can do water removal and clean up quickly and the cost associated with it is relatively low as compared to the cost of mold remediation if it is not taken care of properly.

Here’s some things to do if you do experience flooding:

  • Contact your insurance company to determine if the damage is covered and take picture of the water damage.
  • Move all photos, paintings, and art objects to a safe, dry location.
  • Remove and prop up wet upholstery and cushions
  • Remove rugs from wet floors and pick up loose items from the floor

And never enter an area with standing water or turn on light fixtures if the ceiling is wet.

Then call me, Joe Greiner, Greiner Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning.  I’ll give you a fair, honest assessment and solution.
